Before Bidding

Registration notes

Registration & ID

Complete the bidder information in full. New clients should provide government-issued ID; business bidders may be asked for proof of incorporation or resale documentation.

Credit Card Information

Phone and absentee bid forms must include credit card details and authorization. Forms without card information may be rejected.

Submission Timing

Submit separate forms for different sales. Phone and absentee bid forms must be received at least 18 hours before the sale; condition requests should be sent at least 48 hours before the sale.

Bid by Lot Number

Azaya Art Gallery executes bids by lot number, not description. Please verify lot numbers and descriptions; all bid amounts are hammer prices before buyer's premium.

Bidding Methods

Phone, absentee, and online bidding

These notes follow Azaya Art Gallery's bidder guide and apply to the relevant sale registration.

Absentee Bids

Record the maximum price you are willing to pay for each lot. Unlimited bids are not accepted; plus-one bids are entered at the next bidding increment. Identical absentee bids are prioritized by receipt time, and bids below half of the low estimate may not be accepted.

Phone Bids

Provide a primary phone number and, when possible, a secondary number and back-up amount. The minimum opening bid for phone bids is $500, and phone bidding is arranged first come, first served.

Online Bids

Online bids may be left or executed live through LiveAuctioneers, EpaiLive, HiBid, or other platforms. Online bid amounts are hammer prices, and platform buyer's premiums may vary.

Fees

Buyer's premium

Buyer's premium is added to the successful bid price. Online platforms may include processing fees.
